The situation

From July 2026, Australian real estate businesses come under anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing obligations they have never had before. The estimate is 80,000+ entities affected.

Most of them are small to mid-sized agencies with no compliance function, no compliance software, and no realistic path to building either before the deadline.

The problem

A legislated deadline creates a market, and it also creates a specific kind of danger: a rush of tools that demo well and do not survive contact with a regulator or with the way an agency actually works day to day.

The hard part was never the compliance logic. It was building something an agency would genuinely use under load, without a compliance team to operate it.

The decision

Build it as an operating system rather than a checklist. Compliance that sits inside the workflow an agency already runs, so meeting the obligation is a by-product of doing the job rather than a separate task nobody has time for.

And build it as a real product with real customers before the deadline, not a pilot positioned to catch the wave.

The work

Product strategy, positioning and brand.

The result

An operating product in market with active clients, not a pilot.

Positioned into a market with a legislated deadline and a large, underserved base of affected entities.

Regulatory deadlines reward whoever is already operating when they arrive. The advantage goes to the product with customers in it, not the one with the best launch plan.
