The Efficiency Trap
You built it properly, and pointed it at the smaller prize.
Pointed at saving cost and time · A connected system
This is a well-run programme. The tools talk to each other, ownership is real, and it is delivering the savings it was asked for. The problem is the brief. Efficiency has a floor: you can only remove a cost once, and competitors buying the same tools will reach the same floor. Nothing compounds from here unless the intent changes.
The three moves from here
- Take one connected capability and ask what it would let you sell that you cannot sell today.
- Add one opportunity metric alongside the efficiency metrics, and report both.
- Resist buying more tools. The constraint is the brief, not the stack.
